The Mirrorcube, Treehotel, Sweden

Be part of the landscape at this unique hotel, in the forests of Swedish Lapland.

There are five different architect-designed rooms perching in the trees as well as a sauna. All have classic Scandinavian interiors and are accessed by ramp, bridge or electric stair.

The Mirrorcube is the most startling, with glass sides that reflect the forest and sky in an ever-changing mood.

Environmental sensitivity plays a critical role in the hotel complex – birds are protected by an invisible infra-red film that warns them of the structure and composting toilets are used in each unit.

And, if you really like it, you can take one home – Mirrorcubes can be bought and installed on your own site!
